Unity First with Major Majorca Installation
In a first for Unity Audio, the company’s 2-way active Rock near-field and Avalanche active sub-woofer monitoring combination sold into Majorca has been installed into the new six studio complex of Swedish songwriter and producer Federick Thomander and Johan Lundgren.
The Rock and Avalanche loudspeakers are capable of delivering a breathtakingly accurate performance for tracking, mixing and critical mastering. Thomander was so impressed by their performance that he just had to have some for his new studio: “We have The Rock MkII’s in most of our rooms at Palma Music Studios and we love them” said Thomander. “They sound like a perfect combination of many of the classic nearfield montors. I can work for hours without getting tired, and together with the Avalanche subs they deliver both the clarity and punch we need for meeting the needs of our clients.”
Thomander opened the doors to his studio, The Palma Music Studios situated in Mallorca’s creative hub, earlier this year. He has had numerous hits all over the world and has had a long career working with artists and companies including N’SYNC, Scorpions, Kim Wilde, ABBA’s Agnetha Faltskog, Arashi and Disney amongst others.
The producer chose the monitors because he was looking for something that would enable him to work faster and more accurately: “Unlike with my previous monitors, I’ve found that I have been able to work full sessions with the Rocks and not feel the slightest bit of fatigue,” he said. “What I love the most is that I can run them at really low volume and still hear all the benefits. They can also be crazy loud and, when they are, they’re crazy clean, and sound effortless. These are speakers I can trust and I am so fortunate to be able to work on them every day.”
